Tech SME ties up with Globe to strengthen its presence in Asean

IX Telecom Sdn Bhd, a global virtual network operator (VNO), has partnered with Philippines-based telecommunications and ICT solutions provider, Globe Telecom, to strengthen its presence in the regionThis partnership will further boost the relationship between Globe Telecom and IX Telecom, Cyberjaya’s fastest growing VNO.

“This partnership is another milestone toward strengthening our presence in the Asean region.

“This is also part of our aim to elevate our positioning up the value-chain in exploring other business ventures among telecommunication players in this region,” said IX Telecom chief executive officer Noor Mohd Helmi Nong Hadzmi.

IX Telecom is headquartered in Cyberjaya, a city poised to be a global technology hub with a vibrant evolving ecosystem enriched by innovation and creativity for entrepreneurs to thrive.

“IX Telecom’s presence in Cyberjaya, will truly elevate the city towards excelling in our vision to be a Global Technology Hub to drive economic prosperity and to build a thriving ecosystem through the development of hard and soft infrastructure,” said Faris Yahaya, managing director of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the entity spearheading Cyberjaya’s development.


The agreement was signed by Noor Helmi, on behalf of IX Telecom, and Charmaine Pamintuan, Globe Business Enterprise Group vice-president for marketing, on behalf of Globe Telecom.

On hand to witness the signing was International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Sri Mustapha Mohammed and Globe Business director of data and managed connectivity portfolio Alex Salud.

“Globe Business is looking forward to pursue these growing opportunities together with its international partners,” Pamintuan said of the partnership.

“Being at the forefront of ICT not only in the Philippines but also in the region, Globe Business is honored to partner with IX Telecom as we both synergise our expertise and leadership in delivering world-class connectivity for our enterprise customers not just in our respective countries but also in Southeast Asia,” added Gil Genio, Globe Telecom’s chief operating officer and head of international and business markets.

The partnership was forged during the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation’s specialised marketing mission in conjunction with the trade and investment mission to Manila, Philippines in May.
