Selangor, Malaysia – Today, IX Telecom signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). This partnership intends to bring both parties to launch the 2u2i study mode program.
The 2u2i study mode is an internship program hosted by IX Telecom, uniquely tailored for UiTM’s Information System Engineering students as part of their hands-on practice in industry semesters.
Every year, over 290,000 students in Malaysia graduate from institutions of higher learning. However, 1 out of 5 graduates remains unemployed, with the majority being degree holders making up to 55% of the unemployed rate.
One of the top reasons behind the fresh graduates’ unemployment is the skills mismatch. While education institutions favor academic and professional qualifications, employers prioritize soft skills and work experience.
IX Telecom will work together with UiTM to assure students insertion in the work-place enhancing the student learning experience through experiential knowledge sharing that is effectively explored off-campus and in the thick of the telco industry.
IX Telecom Group CEO, Mr. Noor Helmi, and UiTM’s Vice Chancellor of UiTM, Professor Ir. Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim signed the agreement at the signing ceremony held at Dorsett Grand Subang, Selangor, Malaysia.
